This spring, we’ve partnered with Merz b. Schwanen - the German heritage brand known for its premium cotton jersey and, more recently, the white T-shirt worn by Jeremy Allen White in The Bear - to create a limited capsule collection built around natural fabrics.
The Original Fibres x Merz b. Schwanen collaboration brings together structured European linen and heritage cotton expertise in a focused three-piece release designed for spring layering.
Before reading on, watch the film below. It captures the thinking behind the collection - a shared belief in material integrity, craftsmanship, and clothing that improves with wear.
Why We Collaborated with Merz b. Schwanen
At Original Fibres, everything begins with fabric. We’ve built our reputation around heavyweight linen, pushing the idea that linen isn’t just a summer fabric, but something that can hold its structure and be worn year-round.
Merz b. Schwanen approaches cotton in much the same way. Internationally respected for its premium cotton jersey production, the German brand has become synonymous with quality and durability.
This collaboration felt natural because both brands prioritise natural fibres, low-impact materials, and considered manufacturing over trend cycles. The starting point for the capsule was simple: How can we combine heavyweight linen and premium cotton to create something practical, textural, and built for everyday wear?
The result is a three-piece collection designed as the ultimate off-duty spring uniform - understated, breathable, and built to last.
The Linen Worker’s Jacket
The centrepiece of the collaboration is a reworked version of our Linen Railway Jacket, adapted by the Merz b. Schwanen design team. If you’re looking for a cropped jacket that’ll help you sartorially bridge the seasons, this is a great option.

The 50/50 Linen-Cotton T Shirt
Developed exclusively for this collaboration, the T Shirt is crafted from a bespoke 50/50 blend of linen and organic cotton. Cotton provides softness and classic jersey durability. Linen adds breathability and natural texture. The blend creates a dry handle with subtle structure. The result is a T Shirt that feels elevated without being overly refined - ideal worn alone or layered beneath a jacket.

The Fabric Fanatics Cap
The finishing piece in the capsule is a 100% organic cotton twill baseball cap embroidered with our motto: Fabric Fanatics. It’s a six panel construction that’ll appeal to the fans of more classic cap design.

Where Is the Collection Made?
All pieces in the Original Fibres x Merz b. Schwanen capsule are manufactured in Portugal using custom-developed fabrics created specifically for this collaboration. Each garment features a co-branded label produced using Merz b. Schwanen’s vintage punch card machine — a small but meaningful detail that reflects the shared respect for process behind the project.
