Sum up your approach to design in a few sentences.
Design for me is about solving a problem, but that problem can present itself in so many different forms. It can arise from personal experiences, cultural changes or can even just be a case of coming across something that I believe I can design in a better way. People often think of design to be only about how something appears, but it’s so much more – it’s everything around that too – feeling, problem solving and people.
What’s the difference between a good pair of glasses and a great pair of glasses?
A good pair of glasses can help you see. A great pair of glasses can change your life by not only improving your vision, but defining who you are by helping you look good and feel exceptional.
What three factors influence you most when buying clothes?
I usually look closely at each element of an item’s design to see how it looks and feels on me. I still think a pivotal part of buying clothes is being able to touch them, and experience them in person. My clothes have to have great fitting silhouettes, made from quality materials that last.
Your studio is just off Golborne Rd. What brings you to the area?
I currently live in Hammersmith, so when the time came I looked for a studio in West London that I could cycle to and was lucky to find a unit by the canal near Golborne Road. I’m so glad I ended up there and if anyone hasn’t been there they should come on a Friday or Saturday to experience the charming end of Portobello Road.
