Natural fabrics for all seasons & occasions.

Original Fibres is a fabrics-first brand. Always natural, always low-impact. Not necessarily how you’d expect them to be used. Founded as a brand specialising in linen for all seasons, our offer has expanded into other low-impact, natural fabrics.

Our mission remains the same: using different weights and weaves of luxury-grade natural fabrics to change perceptions around how and where they can be worn.

The beginning of our journey took us to the historic linen mills of Northern Ireland. Our move into other natural fabrics has since taken us to the foothills of the Italian Alps, the smoke filled valleys of Yorkshire and the eclectic streets of Berlin.

Longevity by design.

By studying the styles that have endured over the years, we focus on creating timeless, hard-wearing pieces that will look just as good - or even better - in 15 years’ time.

We aim to create clothes that people want to wear to death. To counter the idea that something needs to be thrown away when it’s ripped or worn through, we offer free repairs for life.

For the occasional piece that’s beyond repair, we offer an Exchange Programme where you get 20% off a like-for-like replacement.

Our manufacturing & other materials.

Our emphasis on sustainability and timeless design is reinforced by top quality manufacturing and natural materials throughout the clothing we sell.

Our clothes are made in four specialist factories in London and Northern Portugal, all of whom meet our exacting standards for ethical production and uncompromising quality.

The mills we use combine a legacy of producing the highest quality fabrics with a modern outlook that recognises the need to minimise our impact on the world.

The other materials we use in our clothes are low-impact, natural options wherever possible. Also, the entire process of getting our clothes from the factory to your door is single use plastic free.

Founders Cal & George.

Years spent meeting at the British menswear shops lining Berwick Street, Soho and Jermyn Street, St. James’s provided the original inspiration for co-founders George and Cal. Particularly the brands whose collections of soft tailoring straddled the line between formal and casual wear.

But it was a belief that so much more could be done with linen that really put the wheels in motion. They knew it was a brilliant summer fabric but wondered why it wasn't worn outside of heatwaves and holidays? Linen’s famous characteristics of texture and durability should work just as nicely in heavier items.

Our conviction that the world should be wearing more linen was boosted when we found out it is one of the world’s most sustainable clothing fabrics. Linen is created from the flax plant, something of a wonder crop that only gets better the more you dig.

We have now expanded that vision to include other low-impact, natural fabrics. We’re hoping Original Fibres can spearhead a new era of brands that embrace the moral imperative to offer stylish clothing while doing things less harmfully.
