We've realised there are very few opportunities to create something that's genuinely different and defensibly better than the alternatives.

Call it inspired vision, call it naive optimism, but we stumbled upon something when we decided to repurpose a 15oz upholstery linen into an unlined chore jacket. ​It almost never saw the light of day - broken needles and frustrated seamsters nearly put the idea to bed. But the Railway Jacket found refuge on the denim machines, whose sturdiness was up to the challenge.

​One question remained. How would they wear over time? The early results were promising. And now, eight years later, those original samples look better than they ever did. Battle-softened by years of wear, they’ve become the jackets we reach for more than any others.​
