Issy Granger

Fast becoming a mainstay in the most discerning interiors around the UK, Issy Granger is an eponymous brand founded in 2019 with the aim of enhancing the everyday with beautifully crafted homewares that celebrate history, spark curiosity, and bring joy.

Could you tell us a little about your journey and how Issy Granger came to life?

Absolutely! I founded Issy Granger six years ago this October. I've always had a love for interiors and a fascination with craftsmanship, which naturally led me to product design. From the beginning, I was drawn to the incredible art of glassblowing, so the first collection that I designed was our signature line of glass candlesticks. Over time, our catalogue has grown organically and now includes a wide range of homeware from glass tumblers and candlesticks to blankets, linen and lighting.

What inspires your collections?

I draw inspiration from all around me, both in nature and everyday objects. I am particularly captivated by the history of craft and take inspiration from antiques and historical designs. I love wandering the halls of places like the V&A and the British Museum, they truly are bottomless treasure troves filled with ideas. We are so lucky to have so many great museums on our doorstep!

We can't wait to have you in our Lamb’s Conduit Street store. How did you choose the products that have been selected to be displayed?

We are so excited to be in your store! I’ve curated a capsule collection of glassware, lighting, blankets, and a few ceramic pieces. Each item was chosen for its balance of practicality and style that I believe really complements the timeless aesthetic of your Original Fibres collection. I think it is going to look fantastic!

Can you tell us a bit more about the artisans and materials you work with?

I’m committed to working with artisans who use traditional techniques to bring our designs to life, and we now work with eight different makers for our collections. To list a few - our glassware is crafted by a family-run workshop in Egypt, where the centuries-old art of glassblowing has been passed down through generations. Having grown up in Yorkshire, it was important to me to create something close to home, which led me to the region’s historic mills to produce our merino wool blankets. At the mill they spin, dye and weave the blankets all on site; it’s really wonderful to watch. Our lamps are also made in the UK by incredibly skilled woodworkers, who handcraft each piece from scratch with remarkable attention to detail. Every item is a celebration of craftsmanship, heritage, and quality.

Which pieces from your collection are you currently loving the most?

That’s a tricky one! I definitely have a soft spot for our Hexagon Table Lamps. They’re handmade in the UK by a wonderfully skilled woodturner whom I have worked with for a few years now. We’ve also recently launched a new mini version in blue, red and cream that are perfect for a bedside or small table.

What’s next for Issy Granger?

We’ve got some exciting new products in the pipeline and big plans on the horizon. I can’t share too much just yet - watch this space!
